BEAUTY ENDURES: THE ROLE OF BEAUTY IN CATHOLIC SACRED ARCHITECTURE
Steve is a licensed architect with over twenty years of experience designing Catholic churches building liturgical furnishings, and creating stunning architectural visualizations. His strengths are not only in understanding the theology and symbolism of Catholics sacred architecture, but also in providing a clear vision for parish construction projects from initial parish-wide consensus building to overseeing the implementation of that idea through construction. Over the past twenty years, Steve has designed, managed, coordinated, and provided architectural vision to many parish projects across the nation.
Steve holds a Ph.D. in Design and Planning from the University of Colorado Denver. His research is: HOW CATHOLIC SACRED ARCHITECTURE FORMS MEANING THAT ENDURES.
It involves an analysis and of the relationship between Catholic sacred architectural expression and the Catholic sensibility. Not only does it document the architectural patterns that endure in Catholic churches, but, more importantly, it seeks to understand why they endure.
