As a faithful Catholic, Rebecca Dussault, has been called to carry her enthusiasm for the Truth in to the arena of athletics both as athlete and now coach. She is a 2006 US Skiing Olympian and the 2010 Triathlon World Champion who shares deeply and truthfully what it has meant to her to be raised as a daughter of the Church, staying faithful even when the world dared her to be unfaithful and uncommitted to rise to the top.
Rebecca’s experience encompasses growing up as athlete from a broken family, making select teams, traveling the world extensively for camps and competitions, short retirements (baby breaks), and God inspired comebacks. She received challenges to her faith, which saw her eventually leave the spotlight as one of the best skiers in the United States, but God drafted other plans for her. She came out of retirement with her family as a "domestic church" and together they traveled and supported her racing as a professional in several sports from 2002-2014 winning multiple titles and giving a gospel witness as they went. She resumed full-fledged competition in between each birth witnessing to the world the power of the family to aim for and strive after goals that are for God's glory.
She is not deterred by standards set by others and is hungry to rewrite the history of what a mother can achieve athletically whilst being totally true to her vocation. Her insistence on bringing her family everywhere she went helped cut some vital red tape for other women athletes to do the same and live their vocation to motherhood. She has competed in the World Championships of 4 different sports on 3 separate continent earning her recognition as a "multi-sport momma." She currently coaches women from around the world in faith, fitness, and food with her business FIT CATHOLIC MOM.
Publications tout Rebecca as a “truly, faithful Catholic athlete.” She empowers the audience to face a sporting culture, burn for the Truth, and make use God given abilities to witness to starving souls and bring them to Christ. She teaches how to leverage sport as a school of moral excellence.
She has a particular devotion to Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati of Torino, Italy, the place of her Olympic debut. His intercession and brotherhood with her is nothing short of riveting and inspirational. Rebecca and her husband homestead and homeschool in the mountains of Northern Idaho. She is expecting their eighth child in a few weeks.
