Rachel Bulman’s journey to Catholicism is a testament to grace, love, and a relentless search for truth. Adopted by missionaries as an infant and raised as a pastor’s kid, she converted to Catholicism in 2008 after attending her first Catholic Mass on Easter Sunday in her early 20s. Though she couldn’t see much from her seat in the back balcony, she felt an unmistakable sense of belonging—she had found her spiritual “home.” Since her conversion, she has found a deep love for theology, philosophy, and the depths of Catholicism and has a gift for taking abstract and dense subjects and making them reachable and understandable for every audience. Her story telling, humor, and depth of knowledge pierce the heart and awaken the mind.
Now a devoted wife, mother of seven (one in heaven), speaker, and author, Rachel is known for her vivid storytelling, humor, and depth of insight, and captivates audiences of all sizes and vocations. Her talks are dynamic and soul-stirring, cutting through life’s complexities to reach the hearts of her listeners.
Rachel serves as the Course Community Leader for the Word on Fire Institute, is a regular contributor to the Word on Fire blog, and co-hosts the YouTube series *Meet the Bulmans* alongside her husband, Jason, who was recently ordained as a deacon. She edited With All Her Mind: A Call to the Intellectual Life (Word on Fire, 2022) and authored Becoming Wife: Saying Yes to More Than the Dress (Our Sunday Visitor, 2023). Two more books are set to release soon.
At home in Central Florida, Rachel and Jason are raising their children—Gabriel, Jeremiah, Gemma, Abigail, Karol (in heaven), Josephine, and Benedict. She enjoys karaoke, lifting weights, Sunday naps, and cheering for the Florida Gators. While she has a sweet tooth for ice cream, kombucha is definitely not her thing. Passionate about rediscovering beauty, truth, and goodness, Rachel sees her life as a continual call to holiness. Her love for God and His Church shines through her words and work, inspiring others to pursue their own faith journeys with courage and joy.
