Nicholas A. Higgins is a bilingual worship leader, singer-songwriter, author, speaker, and missionary originally from Florida. His passion comes from his love for Jesus in the Eucharist, in His Church, and in the poor. Several of Nicholas’s creative works are inspired by his time serving in Honduras, Central America with his Catholic mission community, Missioners of Christ, including his debut album of Catholic Christian Contemporary Music, “Fireheart” (2025) and his children’s book “The Campesino’s Dream” (2024), a story of a young man who grew up in Honduras.
MUSIC | Nicholas has led worship both nationally and internationally for over 10 years including at Diocesan events, parish missions and events, mission trips, Sunday Mass, and Christian coffee shops. He has also held several concerts and worship nights sharing his original songs and a blend of contemporary worship and ancient hymns. He sings in English and Spanish and plays guitar and piano.
TALKS | Nicholas has a passion for speaking about foreign mission, serving the poor, the Eucharist, the Blessed Virgin Mary, Men’s topics, Spiritual Warfare, and the Theology of the Body. His talks pull from Scripture, the wisdom from the Saints, his personal testimony, and his experience serving the poorest of the poor in the developing world.
EXPERIENCE | Nicholas is an active member of Missioners of Christ and he has over 15 years of experience serving annually with their permanent mission in Honduras including living there as a full time missionary for over two years (2016 to 2018). He was trained by Missioners of Christ to lead worship and give talks on a variety of general evangelization topics in both Spanish and English. For example, he has given talks to children including interactive songs with hand motions on the Love of God, Jesus, and God's Creation. He has given talks to teens, young adults, and adults on Chastity, Spiritual Warefare, Catholic Social Teaching and Pro-Life topics, the Eucharist, and other topics. Since 2011, Nicholas has led worship and given talks on countless domestic and foreign mission trips with Missioners of Christ and Catholic Mission Trips, Inc. Additionally, Nicholas has used his gifts of music and speaking as (1) a Spanish and Theology Teacher at an all boys high school in Maryland (MD), (2) a young adult minister at multiple parishes (in Pennsylvania (PA), Florida (FL), and MD), and (3) as founder of a young adult group in MD and multiple young adult mens small groups in FL and MD.

- Featured Speaker and Worship Leader for Diocese of Harrisburg Men’s Conference (2026). Talk entitled "Mercy in Mission". Shared his original song "Man of God", the story behind it, and examples from Scripture and his own life in the mission field of God's mercy. Also led music for Mass with the Bishop.
- Mainstage Worship Leader for Diocese of Richmond Middle School Youth Rally (2026). Led music for ~400 middle schoolers and chaperones including high energy contemporary praise and worship songs, songs for reflection, and songs for Mass.
- Speaker and Worship Leader for Lenten Parish Mission at Sacred Heart Basilica (2026). Shared his original song "Fireheart" alongside short reflections about the Sacred Heart and the Passion of Christ. Led music for adoration and Mass on the three day parish mission.

Shared Scripture about the New Evangelization, challenged young people to post about God online and shared examples of personal blog and social media including experiences on foreign mission trips to Honduras and the Dominican Republic and a video of Nicholas singing a contemporary praise and worship song with his friend.
