Maria Jacobs is a nationally recognized and internationally broadcast Christian recording artist and published Christian author. She is a dynamic, inspirational speaker whose powerful testimony of overcoming mental health struggles through faith, surrender to God and proper treatment, has encouraged and inspired her audiences. Her message is simple: no life is beyond the healing power of God, or His redeeming grace. Her personal testimony, chronicled in her book “Tell Them About Me” - A Journey Through Bipolar Disorder and the Faith Walk into Remission, tells the true story of God's supernatural presence and sustaining grace, which carried her from despair, into a life filled with lasting hope, and purpose.
Maria has been featured as the keynote speaker for the Lily Women's Conference hosted by Grace Communion Church in Cleveland. She has also shared her testimony at Life Teen and university ministries, regional recovery group symposiums and Christian events. Her unique combination of professional musicianship, biblical insight, and lived experience, makes her a compelling voice for audiences seeking hope, resilience, and a deeper trust in God. Maria Jacobs is the Vocal Jazz Professor at Kent State University, from where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Ohio State University and has spent decades helping others discover their God-given gifts through education, performance, and ministry. She is a licensed music educator teaching music in Catholic Schools and in after school music programs within inner Akron and Cleveland communities.
Maria has had multiple albums, including her first full Christian album “Perfect is Your Will,” accepted for first-round, Grammy consideration and she has recently been accepted as a voting member of the Recording Academy (NARAS), the organization that presents the Grammy Awards®.
