Film producer LEO SEVERINO has produced culture changing films such as Sound of Freedom, Cabrini and Bella.
While he found success in the Latin American Corporate Transactions department, Leo's true passion lay in Hollywood, a passion that had ignited during his 1997 summer internship with 20th Century Fox. After just over two years with the law firm, Leo transitioned to entertainment law.
In 2001, Leo joined the Fox Networks Group as Director of Business Affairs, where he became the youngest executive in the department. Over the next three years, he played a pivotal role in the national programming division.
However, Leo's career took a significant turn in 2004 when he had a chance encounter with Eduardo Verastegui. This encounter led Leo to leave 20th Century Fox and join Metanoia Films as a partner and producer, overseeing Business Affairs.
Leo's work as a writer and producer on the film "Bella" marked a significant milestone in his career. His latest blockbuster hit, Sound of Freedom, took the world by storm. He produced other movies with movie stars such as Kevin James.
Severino is a highly accomplished Hollywood veteran with over 20 years of experience in the industry. As a founding partner of Metanoia Films, he has left an indelible mark on the world of cinema.
Leo made his producing and screenwriting debut with the critically acclaimed feature film "Bella," which won the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival and generated more than ten times its production budget in revenues.
His subsequent films include "Little Boy," which won the Latin American Cancine Award for Best Picture, and the incredibly successful "Sound of Freedom." With a production budget of $14 million, "Sound of Freedom" has earned nearly $300 million in revenues, making it one of the most profitable films in independent film history.
Leo's latest project, "Cabrini," is a $34 million period piece set to be released globally in theaters in March 2024.
Before his career in producing, Leo served as the Director of Business Affairs for the Fox Networks Group, a division of 20th Century Fox, where he managed their National Programming division. He also spent a year as an associate at the Producers Guild of America, where his passion for filmmaking was first ignited.
Leo's journey into entertainment began after he worked as an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, one of the largest law firms in the world, specializing in Latin American corporate transactions.
He holds a Juris Doctorate degree with honors from the University of Southern California Law School and undergraduate degrees in Philosophy from the same institution. Other films Leo Severino has produced include Alleged, Little Boy, This Is The Year, Crescendo and more.
