After ridding her growing family’s 1200 square-foot home of over half of their stuff, Katie Sciba discovered not only a more peaceful house, but a happier vocation and deeper intimacy with Christ; and what began as keeping an uncluttered home for her growing family became an instant passion for living with less for greater holiness and peace.
Katie now serves as a simplicity consultant for clergy and families alongside more than ten years of professional speaking. Widely recognized for her humor and honesty, Katie holds a degree in theology from Benedictine College, and her work on holy simplicity, spiritual intimacy with Jesus, and the domestic church has had a powerful impact on audiences spanning from Bangor to San Diego.
She is an eleven-time Catholic Press Award–winning columnist and the host of Two Coins Culture, a podcast on living simply. Katie and her family live in Omaha, Nebraska.

Look to the Star
This content highlights the ancient title for Mary, Our Lady Star of the Sea, and holds her up as an example for Christian living. Concupiscence is a moment-to-moment battle. In “Look to the Star,” Katie presents how Mary responds to four common challenges humanity faces, highlighting her title as Star of the Sea and her role of leading us to Jesus.
Restored: Unlimited Mercy for the Soul
Here we immerse ourselves in Divine Mercy and Christ’s words from the diary of St. Faustina, how Divine Mercy renews our souls, and how God’s care and concern for us goes to the deeply personal parts as well as the smallest details of our lives. Divine Mercy is restorative and in Restored, Katie conveys that there is no end to it.
Divine Design
The thesis of this presentation is from Christ to St. Faustina: “True greatness is in loving God and in humility.” We’ll discuss that loving God is active and a series of choices, more so than a sentiment. Humility is knowledge of self, so when we’re able to confront the things that prevent us from seeing ourselves honestly, we’ll more clearly realize who the Lord designed us to be.
