John M. Kuhry, Sr. is a thrice former CEO, published author and keynote speaker. John Kuhry is an accomplished professional who speaks only on issues from which he has direct experience. A lifelong Catholic, he concentrates on subjects “too hot” for today's clergy that are driving well-intentioned, innocent, and sometimes ignorant Catholics away from the true Faith. His motivation is a proper Catholic legacy for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He has no other agenda. Biographical Sketch Alumnus of Creighton Prep, Creighton University, Army Intelligence School, and Life Office Management School.
Has received six of the seven sacraments starting with Baptism at Holy Cross Church. As a boy was personal acolyte to a future Bishop and thought long and hard about becoming a priest. Received a classical education including five semesters at University studying Theology and Metaphysics. Amongst the most interesting college courses was Logic! Six years of Latin (including Prep school) and two years of Greek. Majored in English and minored in History.
Served thirty months in the United States Army Intelligence Corps as a civilian clothes agent. Spent the next thirteen years in the insurance industry rising to become, at age thirty-three, the youngest CEO of a public insurance company in America. Was listed in Who's Who In Insurance. Spent the next six and a half years with an international productivity company rising to a position of partner.
Became an entrepreneur and started a snack food company that did business in forty states during the next seven years. In 1988 started a professional development company, The Change Process. Behind the values of Faith and Family comes the game of golf as a serious avocation.
His first “speaking engagement” was before Wall Street Analysts at the tender age of thirty-three. He has never addressed since a more cynical or difficult audience. During his business career he wrote at least one hundred professional articles but only recently, at the prodding of a Priest (and Almighty God), has he undertaken the writing of non-fiction books. The first book, Hardest Is Best, Our Human Heritage was published in June 2010. A second book entitled The Risen Soul, A Chronicle of 60 Morbid Years is set for release in November 2011, and a third book, The Moral Collapse of the Popular Culture, The Destruction of our Spiritual Ethos is slated for completion at the end of 2011.
