Janelle Travels from Canada.
Award winning French-Canadian Chanteuse, Janelle, is leading a life which has been forever ruined for the ordinary! It seems like just yesterday that Janelle sang for the late Pope John Paul II and close to 1 million people at World Youth Day in Toronto, 2002. The then-25 year old dynamo was chosen from entrants around the world to not only sing and record the World Youth Day 2002 theme song but also to perform with her band 26 times throughout the six day event in Toronto.
Since then, her dynamic enthusiasm and powerful voice have led her around Canada, the U.S., and New Zealand, bringing souls closer to Christ through her music and message.
Janelle grew up in the small French town of Legal, Alberta. By the time she was 5 years old it was apparent that this sparkling, vibrant little girl had an extraordinary gift - to sing - and to do so ex-ceedingly well. From a very early age, her mother and grandmother taught her old French folk songs, after which came lots of exposure to singing in and learning the music of the Church. By age 14, Janelle had become the lead singer with a contemporary Christian band, hosting evenings in Edmonton, Alberta that regularly attracted 300-600 youth. After singing with this group for 4 years, Janelle moved to New Zealand where she attended ICPE School of Evangelization.
Upon her return to Canada, she joined the Life-Vision Communications team, singing, recording and even doing some secretarial work. Soon after, she married Life Vision director of operations, Jason Reinhart, presently her manager. The couple currently live and work in Lloydminster, Alberta with their six year old Eric, two year old Monique and baby Joshua, born on New Year's Day 2009.
Janelle and her current band, ONE80, have been touring throughout Canada and the United States extensively, seeking out and accepting every opportunity to grow in their art and in their faith. With a desire to reach youth with music and a message that is positive and offers hope to a hurting world, this is one artist with a very clear objective. Her drive, team and platform will not only enable her to realize her dreams, but to supersede them! Janelle first solo album, "New Day", produced in Nashville, Tennessee, was released at WYD2002. In 2005, Janelle released a new single "Be Not Afraid - Open Wide Your Heart" in honor of Pope John Paul II. This resulted in over 25 radio and television appearances, including NBC Dateline, following the passing of His Holiness, John Paul II. In May 2005, Janelle had the honor of singing for Queen Elizabeth II during the Royal visit to Canada.
Janelle's latest album, What I Gotta Say, continues to soar up the charts, exhorting and encouraging the body of Christ to stand firm in the love of God and look forward to the hope of Christ.
