Father Joseph DeMarzo, M.A, is a Roman Catholic priest of the Diocese of Paterson and a passionate preacher, teacher, and defender of the Catholic faith. His mission is to proclaim the truth “in season and out of season, when convenient and when inconvenient.” He describes himself simply as a truth defender, committed to helping others understand and live the truth of the Catholic faith in an increasingly secular culture.
Father Joseph began his preparation for the priesthood at Holy Apostles College and Seminary before continuing his theological and pastoral formation at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, from which he graduated in 2024. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Paterson on June 7, 2025.
He currently serves as Parochial Vicar at St. James of the Marches Parish in Totowa, New Jersey. In April 2026, he earned a Master’s Degree in Moral Theology.
In addition to his parish ministry, Father Joseph reaches a growing audience through Instagram, X, and his podcast, "Keeping the Faith with Father Joseph", where he addresses questions of Catholic faith, morality, culture, philosophy, and contemporary issues.
Father Joseph is available to speak on a wide range of topics, including gender and human identity, morality, immigration, bioethics, Modernism, Christian spirituality, the philosophy of man, the Catholic understanding of faith and reason, philosophy in general, and subjects drawn from the Summa Theologica. He is also happy to address particular questions and contemporary issues in light of Catholic teaching.
