Dom Raso is a former Navy SEAL Team Six operator, a warrior forged in the highest levels of military service, and a man driven by unshakable faith. With over a decade of combat experience, Dom has dedicated his life to defending freedom, confronting evil, and living with integrity both on and off the battlefield.
During his time in the U.S. Navy, Dom served with SEAL Team Six — one of the most elite and highly trained units in the world. Dom grew up without spiritual guidance or virtuous role models, and at a young age, he began to drift from the Catholic faith into which he was baptized.
Dom Raso traces his spiritual awakening to two pivotal experiences — one of which was a national tragedy.
On August 6, 2011, the U.S. military suffered a devastating loss when a helicopter, call sign Extortion 17, was shot down by insurgents in Afghanistan. All 38 personnel on board were killed.
Among them were 15 members of the Navy SEALs Gold Squadron — Raso’s own unit. It was the deadliest single incident for U.S. forces since the Global War on Terror began in 2001, and the darkest day in SEAL history.
Attending funeral after funeral, Dom witnessed the immense grief of the wives and children left behind. The pain of losing his brothers in arms — men he had fought beside and loved — became a profound turning point in his life.
