I would love to speak at your women's retreat, personal/professional development workshop, parish event, or other gathering. My talks fall into two primary "genres" - Women's Leadership & Mission and Freedom & Healing. This page provides an overview of my signature talks. Please know it is common for me to tailor a talk (or create a new one!) to suit your particular theme and group.
Archdiocesan reviewed and approved speaker with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, PA.
A note from De: Way back into my childhood, I recall daydreaming about the prince who would ride into my life, rescue me from my circumstances and fill me up in every way. I unconsciously looked for signs of my prince in the ordinary men in my life. I didn’t yet know that I was searching for my Savior.
When reality left its clues, time and again, that none of these men was my savior, I was hurt and confused. I began to believe that maybe something was wrong with me or that I wasn’t good enough. I bought into the lies that told me who and what I needed to be in order to earn the love and sense of belonging that I craved.
Our Lord finally got my attention, albeit through a series of adverse events in my life, and gently and slowly, He healed my wounds. He strengthened my spirit, taught me how to resist Satan’s lies, and firmly rooted me in the Truth of who I am – His beloved daughter.
Through speaking and coaching, I am privileged to journey alongside other women also searching for the Truth. It is my utter joy to guide women in the discovery that no matter how long we’ve believed that lie of the enemy and no matter how many mistakes or poor choices have been made, His loving arms are always open and waiting for our return. Rejoice!
My husband, Marc, and I have been blessed with three amazing-joy-givers and hair-pulling-anxiety-producers, ages 16, 14, and 3! We live in the Philadelphia suburbs and love to serve the Lord through our home parish of St. Mary Catholic Church in Schwenksville, PA.
Talks / Retreat Sessions:
Finding Freedom in a Bound Up World: Anxiety. Worry. Not enough…time, energy, money, popularity, worthiness. We are captive to all kinds of fears, limiting beliefs, and quite frankly, lies. Yet, Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection claimed our freedom: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” – Galatians 5:1
In this talk, De guides us to stand firm in the Lord and, through the power of the Holy Spirit, release that which binds us.
Transformed!: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.” – Romans 12:2 “Take every thought captive to obey Christ.” – 2 Cor 10:5
How have you conformed to the world’s ideas of how to be a “good person,” “good mother,” or a “good wife?” How do these ideas conflict with God’s desires for you? Opening up the two scripture verses referenced above, De takes us on an interactive journey to identify the thoughts it is time for us to take captive, so that we can experience transformation and freedom in the Lord.
Being the Beloved: While we may likely believe the sentiment, “God loves you,” we often fall short when it comes to allowing the fullness of this truth to deeply land within our hearts and change our lives. For if my day-to-day existence reflected my true identity as Beloved of God, wouldn’t I perhaps speak more kindly to myself, shower myself with compassion rather than criticism, and desire to share the love of God more freely with others?
In this talk, De exposes some common ways we unknowingly reject our true identity in Christ. We’ll experiment with ways to live the life of a beloved child of God, right in the midst of our ordinary, busy, messy, culturally-pressured lives. There is great freedom awaiting us!
Leadership ABC: We know that it is essential for leaders to foster openness, trust and collaboration within our teams, churches, and workplaces. How do we do this effectively? In this half day to full day workshop, we uncover and explore three “Leadership ABCs” that are perhaps more necessary in today’s climate than ever before: Authenticity, Belonging and Courgage.
Through stories and example, De paints a picture of authentic, connecting, courageous leadership. Through experiential exercises, participants will explore their authentic selves, while inviting the Holy Spirit to be our guide. We’ll seek to align our thinking and behavior more fully with the Lord’s plan for us. And we’ll leave with the understanding that leadership is far more about who we are BEing than what we are DOing.
