Coach Bob Mahr is answering a call to combine his ever growing faith with four decades of life experiences as a business leader, multi-faceted sports coach, community volunteer, college athlete and father to share insights and lessons learned. He is letting God use him as His ‘Huckleberry’ to meet people where they are and take the message to them – figuratively and literally. This message inspires reflection and discernment, providing guidance and guideposts for the journey.
Bob's life experiences feed winsome anecdotes and imagery to create “stickiness” to the insights. He makes complex thoughts relatable to everyday life uncovering how God’s providence is interwoven through it all. Bob is wired to be a Coach - it has been his passion, not his profession – it is now his repurposing, not his retirement.
Coach Mahr takes his mission from Luke 12:48, “Much will be required of the person entrusted with much and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.” The better we understand what has been entrusted to us, the better we give in a way that develops others and ourselves. It is in recognizing the talents we have received and from Whom that we find our most profound identity, and it is in giving that we experience our most sincere mission.
Coach recognizes he is in the "Final 1/3," of his journey so his emphasis is on building up God’s Kingdom through connecting, serving, and loving our neighbors – helping others to become saints. He highlights success being based on who we are and Whose we are, not what we do.
