Are you struggling with forgiving someone who has really hurt you? You are not alone! Unforgiveness is an epidemic affecting our families and communities. Challenged by his priest/spiritual mentor to create a forgiveness program in 2013, Charles Jansen has been sharing forgiveness education with individuals, parishes, and organizations across the country ever since. This material can begin the healing process for individuals, families and relationships. Why would you NOT want to hear more?
In 2013, in response to a challenge from his pastor and spiritual mentor, Chuck began studying forgiveness. What he learned ignited a passion within him to share the message of forgiveness with everyone. Chuck began by developing an extensive online curriculum and now has "forgiveness facilitators" in multiple states teaching forgiveness in prisons, retirement homes, bible groups, and parishes. Chuck Jansen is founder of Forgiveness Institute, KC, Inc, a 501(c)(3) charity that inspires, educates and facilitates forgiveness as a path to healing and restoration. The track record of this ministry proves that "Forgiveness Education Works!".
Chuck attended Loyola University and earned degrees in Theology and Social Studies, as well as a Master's Degree from Loyola's Institute of Pastoral Studies. His experience as a high school religion teacher and a real estate agent ensure he can reach audiences of all ages. Chuck is an engaging speaker whose down-to-earth style allows him to connect easily with his audience. He brings a bit of humor to all his presentations as he feels "laughter is the lubricant of life".
Chuck's experience sharing forgiveness ranges from individual consultations, to parish talks, to a three-day parish mission. He has collaborated with priests and an Archbishop via podcasts, spoken to callers on Relevant Radio, and been a repeat presenter at the annual Men Under Construction conference. His Forgiveness 101 program has received the Imprimatur from the Archbishop of Kansas City, KS (see images above).
Chuck has been married to Diane since 1980 and has three adult children and five grandchildren. He is a fourth degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus council at his parish, Church of the Ascension in Overland Park, Kansas. SPEAKING TOPICS
Exploring Forgiveness (1 hour): Since developing a process to aid others in forgiveness, Chuck has been on a mission to try to stop the cycle that can come from unresolved wounds. Through thought provoking questions, inspiring videos and quick small group discussions, Chuck will help you understand the difference between forgiveness and justice. He will explain how failing to forgive hurts you more than the offender, and if you are hurting, you may be hurting others without realizing it. Ideal for faith groups.
Forgiveness Foundations (1.5 - 2 hours): Building upon the Exploring Forgiveness course, Chuck will delve deeper into the process and concepts behind “why” we should forgive and “what” can happen if we don’t. He will reassure that forgiving isn’t about forgetting or excusing the abuse / offense. Additional videos, inspirational stories and examples will be shared. A short reflective prayer meditation will conclude the event. You will leave with a plan of what you need to do to take your first steps toward forgiveness. Ideal for church events in the evening.
Forgiveness 101 (3 - 4 hours): Forgiveness 101 is a time-tested course with proven results indicating that when people take the time to study the “common denominators” of the complicated process of forgiveness, hearts and minds are transformed. Chuck will share inspiring true stories from his experience of teaching Forgiveness 101 for over a decade, including videos, humor, humility and ending with a reflective prayer meditation. You will leave with a plan/pictograph that will help you remember the steps toward forgiveness. Ideal for retreats and conferences.
