The sensation who took the Catholic social media world by storm overnight, possessing the most recognizable and distinct voice in all of Catholic apologetics, Alex Jurado is a lifelong Catholic who has always passionately shared and defended the faith. He was known as a teenage prodigy in his local community after becoming a catechist and apologist at age 16, teaching not only other teenagers but also adults in parochial faith formation.
After a brief stint in seminary, followed by an equally brief run in Hollywood, Alex applied his knowledge, charisma and trademark voice to the world of social media in 2023 and is now popularly known all over the world as Voice of Reason. In a span of only 2 years, his work has led to thousands and thousands of people becoming or returning to the Catholic Church.
Remarkably, Alex is self-taught, having studied for 13 years before he became Voice Of Reason. He was recognized as a teenage prodigy and was given a teaching position at his local catholic parish at only age 16. He was still in high school while teaching the adults in catechesis. His career as a catechist spanned over 10 years, with only a 2 year interruption as he attended seminary as he discerned becoming a priest. After discerning out of seminary he returned to teaching and embarked in a career as a professional actor. His acting career was cut short in 2021 due to the pandemic, yet during his short time in the acting business he was able to share the Catholic faith with those within the industry.
Alex believes that God allowed him to enter Hollywood in order to share the faith and help save souls. In March of 2023, at the behest of his best friend and now producer Jonathan, Alex began his career as a Catholic content creator and took on the name Voice Of Reason. He became an instant hit and quickly caught the attention of some of the biggest content creators on social media. He received an enormous amount of attention from Catholic and non-Catholics alike, including non-Christians such as Muslims and atheists. He even got the attention of the Pakistani government and was banned in that country.
After explaining and defending the Catholic faith online for only one year, in July of 2024 Alex found himself on the debate stage in his first ever formal public debate. His opponent was none other than the greatest American Protestant debater that has ever lived, Dr. James White - who was participating in his 199th debate. In a true "Rocky" story (Dr. White even brought up Alex's voice being identical to Sylvester Stallone's) Alex defeated his much more experienced opponent in one of the most shocking upsets in the history of Catholic vs. Protestant debates. Alex's fame skyrocketed after this fateful event, and he became universally recognized in the apologetics world.
Less than a year later, in March of 2025, Alex was a guest on the George Janko Show, which is one of the most popular podcasts in the entire world. Alex shared and defended Catholic teaching in one of the most viral and universally praised conversations in the history of Catholic and Protestant dialogue, which even persuaded the famous Protestant podcast host to shift his view in real time towards the Catholic position. This one podcast episode has already led to thousands deciding to become Catholic.
Alex continues to create content that shares the faith; he continues to do apologetics and also participates in formal debates and in ecumenical dialogues with non-Catholics. He frequently tours the country for speaking engagements, as well as leading pilgrimages all over the world. He has even made a return to acting, lending his unique voice to studios for animated films and other Christian projects.
